Wow it's been wet. New record in Tokyo, 34 days and counting of continuous rain, but the world seems to be calming down again. The plants are happy but I have to clean up the jacuzzi, the balcony, the fire gloves (not needed) and see where were can start from again. Am missing Karuizawa, am not missing the journey from here to there. Although the Shinkansen is only just over an hour, I still need to get to the Shinkansen and that's about an hour from here. But I do miss it.
Living in Tokyo you end up quite central to anywhere you'd like to go. Fuji (all 3376 meters of it) is only an hour away and friend called to ask if I'd like to go to his Besso (chalet would be the closest analogy). In theory it should have beautiful views of the volcano, but with the rain, all we saw was a very large mass of cloud. Maybe next time. It was a good weekend though, I have other friends from Tokyo who also live in the area so we could all catch up.
And then a friend from France called as he was going to be in town and a live bar (live music, for some reason just called a "live" here) in downtown it was. And then another friend from LA showed up and that was another night out. Have a photoshoot coming up. Actually three. I always enjoy the shoots but the editing I find a necessary evil. People ask why I don't just outsource it but in reality it wouldn't be my picture any more. Anyway, I'm happy at home with my dog, been a busy couple of weeks. One day I'll get to see Fuji.
